A painting’s realization is beginingless. As opposed to the rigid processes of sanding and polishing in Jewelery making, I watch a painting happen. In my most recent work, I made three wooden wall sculptures that also functions as a painting. Each is paired with a flatware object - stimulating ideas of a meal while reaching to intersect image, object, and thing to investigate form. Painting objects are vehicles of sight of how we see. While Flatware is both an object and a dehumanized “thing”, blurring the function of how we were taught to use it. The two disciplines of thought and their utilitarian nature combined into another type of artifact of the contemporary.

Structured by mathematics into the imagery of geometrical thoughts, the recurrence of spheric forms is representative of well-delimited boundaries. With paint, I direct light as energy, breaking boundaries of forms.  A sphere is a boundary and the light source that generates smaller spheres. Through reimagining everything as a sphere and everything generating a sphere, I am explaining how an unscripted “thing” can exist as it is. Speculating spheres and disorienting what we know and don’t know is endlessly circulating the painting ground. I am jumping between the emotional resonate of new beginnings, endings and the formalities of stories told by a flatware object.
